Pretty random weekend, these last few days have been. It starts out with me resolute to get all my papers written (which I'm still only a few pages closer to that goal now). Needless to say that didn't happen. I got a call Saturday from my cousin wanting some wiring done in her kitchen. Not that bad, I looked at the project, 4 hours tops, leave go to youth group. Come back Sunday, 12 hours later, still not done. Dang Murphy's Law. Interesting/disgusting note: as I was ripping up drywall to run wire, I had not one, but two dead birds fall out.
Youth group was fun, I got to wear my belt buckle I mentioned before for the first time that night, as it came in the post earlier that day. I ended up fleshing out the specifics of randomday, the holiday born out of boredom a few years ago at the bank with one of the highschoolers that comes, Alex. Alex is cool. It is a mishmash of every major holiday. The main character (like Santa or the Easter Bunny) is the Bunny Claus, the easter bunny dressed like Santa, he like me, also wears a giant belt buckle...a four leaf clover buckle (St. Pattys). The gift given by the Bunny Claus is a turkey (Thanksgiving) left underneath the ficus plant (which is topped with the light ball dropped in times square on New Years Eve--perhaps it just hangs above it, as the ball, even miniature, would crush a ficus plant). This is typically left by the fireplace which contains a menorah like contraption with candles (hanukkah). To combine Halloween Trick or Treat and the Fourth of July (U.S.) people shoot candy filled rockets at their neighbors. And lets not forget the favorite randomday past time, throwing random eggs (that strangely resemble Easter eggs) into heart shaped (Valentines Day) hole in their random-o-lantern (a carved pumpkin). Sounds fun, don't it? Next time I get hold of a pen and calendar at roughly the same time, I will chuck the pen at the calendar and set the date for the next randomday (a sacred and time honored tradition dating back to c. 2001) Then the entire Jocam Empire and surrounding countries (U.S.A) can celebrate!
Cheers!
